Croker, part of the Altus Fire & Life Safety family of companies is looking for a Draftsman - Site Surveyor to join our team! This is a hybrid role based in New York City. You will conduct site surveys to document existing building conditions with photographs and field notes. Create CAD drawings of existing floor plans, standpipe/sprinkler riser diagrams, and Fire Protection Plans (FPP’s).

Daily Rate: $250.00

Responsibilities
- Use of AutoCAD software to create Fire Alarm layouts, as-builts, and riser diagrams.
- Create product submittals for permits and AHJ approval.
- Create battery and voltage drop calculations for fire alarm systems.
- Support sales staff by reviewing plans and specifications for technical accuracy and best practices.
- Communicate with the project managers and customers for status updates of assigned jobs.
- Ensure AutoCAD files are kept organized and titled alike.
- Occasionally perform site visits to measure and sketch building floorplans.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred w/ certification
- Ability to operate present version of AutoCAD proficiently.
- Knowledge of blueprints and project specifications is a plus.
- Reliable transportation and drivers license.
- Strong organization, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Professional training or trade school background in architecture or engineering preferred
- Ability to use laser measure
- Exceptional customer service and support skills
