Responsibilities
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Attends Testing & Inspections.
- Assures the system is working in accordance with FDNY codes.
- Reports defective devices and or system malfunctions.
- Inspects and tests all parts of a fire alarm system (detectors, batteries, sound system, etc.)
- Troubleshoots and replaces malfunctioning hardware when necessary.
- Ensures systems comply with FDNY codes.
- Completes all job assignments on time and work in a manner that will exceed customer expectations.
- Completes detailed electronic Testing & Inspection reports stating all relevant information about work performed, defective devices, hours, etc.
- Maintains tools and equipment.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational/technical school training highly preferred; on-the-job training may be provided.
- Certificate of fitness S78 & S98
- NYC SST
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods
- Capable of performing tasks at a computer workstation for prolonged durations
- Physically able to install system hardware and wiring when required
- Able to walk up and down stairs in various facility environments
- Must be able to lift, shift, and pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Sufficient visual and hearing acuity to inspect, diagnose, and assist in the repair of equipment
